DIY TuTu Wreath

Photobucket

This little project took about twenty minutes from start to finish and ended up SUPER cute. I got the idea from Martha Stewart (gotta love Martha!), only she used stickers for her wreaths. Click here to check out Martha's floral sticker wreaths and how to make 'em.

To make a TuTu Wreath, its basically the same concept, only you use Tulle instead of Stickers.

First, start by making a circular wreath shape out of whatever you'd like. I used an old piece of corrugated cardboard that I ripped off a shabby box in my garage. You could use card stock also. I don't think plain copy paper would work, though...

I used a plastic bowl as my perfect circle. Here's the diameter and size comparison...

Cut Tulle Strips to around 15" in length.

Then, fold them in half and cut. (For these "example photos" I didn't cut the Tulle...because I'm using it for another project)

Take the two pieces together, wrap them around the cardboard, and tie ONCE. I found that the ends stick out better when you don't double knot it.

Continue tying doubled strips of Tulle all the way around the cardboard, making sure the knots are almost touching.

You can go all the way around or add a flower, like I did. The possibilities are endless here..alternate Tulle colors, use two different colors for each knot...get creative!

For the ribbon hanger, just hot glue some ribbon to the back of the wreath, at your preference of width and length. Just use ONE continuous piece of ribbon for this part. You'll attach a bow in a minute.

For the bow, make a standard bow using folded ribbon, craft wire, and hot glue. For instructions, click here.

Then, hot glue the bow to the tippy top center point of your ribbon hanger. Then hang it where ever your little heart desires and enjoy!!!
